FAB Used Instrument Sale for Ferndale Band & Orchestra Students

Thank you for your interest in the Ferndale Schools Fine Arts Boosters (FAB) Used Instrument Sale.  On Septermber 30, 2008, the FAB held its first annual instrument sale to provide affordable instruments to young band and orchestra students in the Ferndale School District. 

Nearly 200 instruments we offered from individual sellers as well as McCourt's Music Store.  Over 90% of those who came in search of an instrument actually made a purchase. Next year we will be working to make the sale even bigger and better.

We have a list of instruments that are still available from this year's sale. If you are interested in any of these, contact us and we will put you in touch with the seller.

While the sale is primarily targeted at 4th - 6th graders, it can be of interest to middle and high school students looking to upgrade their current instrument.  

The FAB has people on hand the evening of the sale to help students assess the general quality of an instrument they are interested in, as well as help them determine if repairs are needed.  The Ferndale instrumental music staff is also on hand to answer any questions about sizing or suitability of an instrument for each individual student.

All sellers accept cash payments. Some also take checks or credit cards.

People can: 
 - Come and sell their instruments in person,
 - Have the FAB sell for them at a price the owner designates, or
 - Donate instruments to FAB.

While the 2008 sale is over, we will be having another in the fall of 2009, and we are happy to accept instrument donations any time of the year. If you are interested in selling or donating an instrument, please contact Mark Berger .
