The FHS Jazz Band was recently on the MemoryLane internet/radio show. The sound bite from their spot is now available on the Jazz Band Page . This is a great performance by the group. Check out the announcer at the end and his amazement as to how good this group is!!!

5/6/2008 - It's that time again! Colorguard tryouts are May 13th and 14th, with a special middle school workshop May 9th. See Events below for more information.

4/23/2008 - Flamingo Flocking season is upon us - For $25 you can have one of the Marching Band's 25-bird flocks land on a lawn of your choice in the Ferndale School District. For more information, contact Tammy Dengate or go to the FAB's Flamingo Flocking webpage . The FAB extends a special thank you to Gus Siegmund for once again providing our FABulous Flocking banners.

3/25/2008 - Come to the FAB Annual meeting, Wednesday, April 9, 2008. Enjoy FABulous student entertainment and hear about our fine arts accomplishments while enjoying snacks provided by the board. Voting members will elect new officers at this meeting. More booster information here.

3/16/2008 - Don't miss MSBOA District Jazz Festival at Royal Oak High School, Wednesday, April 2, 2008. Ferndale High School Jazz Ensemble performs at 5:15 p.m. The Ferndale Middle School Jazz Band will also be performing. FMS Time TBA. No admission charge.

3/10/2008 - The FMS Symphony Band received a II Rating at District Festival. The FMS Wind Ensemble received a I Rating qualifying them to participate in the state festival. Congratulations to all our Middle School Musicians!!

3/9/2008 - Congratulations to FHS Combined Full Orchestra for earning a "l" rating at MSBOA District IV Festival on Saturday, March 8, 2008. The group filled Lake Orion's stage with professionalism and FABulous music. A big thanks to parent helpers on this day.

3/3/2008 - Congratulations to both the FHS Symphony Band & Wind Ensemble for their MSBOA Festival performances. The Symphony Band scored two "I" and a "II" in performance and a "I" in sightreading for an overall "I" rating. This performance was followed up by the Wind Ensemble scoring straight "I" from all judges. Orchestra goes to festival March 8 and Jazz Band's date is April 2. Parent helpers needed! Contact Mr. Jamison or Mr. Moy if you can help.

3/2/2008 - Marching Band Semi-Trailer "Wish List". A lot of work has already been completed to prep the trailer for outfitting. Our Trailer committee, headed by Ben Nash, has come up with a "wish list" of items needed to outfit the trailer. Now we need your help, contributions and/or donations. 3/1/2008 - Congratulations to Mr. Jamison and the FHS Wind Ensemble for their fabulous performance at Michigan Music Conference in Grand Rapids on January 26th! Learn more about this performance and the many FABulous donors who made the trip possible.

2/28/2008 - Thank you to the many volunteers who helped make the WGI Ferndale Regional Competition a success February 9 at FHS. Special thanks to the FABulous planning committee! Hope to see everyone at the FAB Annual meeting on April 9, 2008 @ 7:00 P.M.

2/1/2008 - Solo & Ensemble is on!!! In spite of the snow day February 1st, the MSBOA District Solo & Ensemble festival will go on as planned Saturday, Feb. 2 at Walled Lake Northern. Mr. Jamison will be in the band room from 3:00-6:00 PM Friday if students need to collect instruments, music, or site maps for the event. Students should have maps and schedules that were passed out in class. Please arrive Saturday with lots of patience as Friday events rescheduled to Saturday will likely cause backups.
