Percussion Ensemble Sponsor!!   Print this Section  Minimize/Maximize this Section
Ron Monkman's Stone Ridge Construction Company is our first official sponsor. He has graciously donated materials for the backdrop structures and worked closely with Mike Greer to design and build them. Thank you Ron!

The FHS Drum Line is under the direction of Mr. Joe Kuerzi. Mr. Kuerzi has directing the percussion ensemble since 2003. He writes the show, arranges the music and schedule. In addition to directing the FHS Winter Drumline, Mr. Kuerzi is also the battery and pit instructor for the FHS Marching Band.

Percussion Ensemble Requirements   Print this Section  Minimize/Maximize this Section
Positive Attitude: We are only as good as the weakest link...so we lift up and support anyone who needs it at any time to build us up! You must be positive and supportive at all times.
Time Committment: You are expected to be at all rehearsals. Joe knows there will be conflicts. You MUST call or e-mail him if you are going to be absent. TWO (2) unexcused (don't call in) absences and you will have to find another gig.
Fees: Drumline dues are $300. You should fundraise half of the cost (there will be many opportunities!) This covers everything just about except food.
Talent: Effort and Attitude are number one. However, priority will be given to experienced percussionists, prior members, and marching band students. This allows us to build the program for the marching band season.
Image:You represent your school, the program, yourself and your family. Integrity on and off the floor is most important. Only positive, rule following behavior will be accepted.
Academics: We expect that all students will pass ALL of their classes. Any student not passing a class at the Dec. 3 progress report will not be allowed to compete until they provide proof that their grade has improved. Don't let that happen!!!
Parent Involvement:We can't be successful without you. From moving equipment, making props, fundraising, chaperoning etc. parents are the backbone of the Drumline. We expect all parents to be involved in some way. Plus, your kids really do love having you there!!!

Drumline) Rehearsal Schedule   Print this Section  Minimize/Maximize this Section
Rehearsals: Generally Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-8:30. Students clean up after that so don't expect them until closer to 9pm.
