8/6/2010 - Marching Band Parent Meeting, Monday, August 9th - The meeting will be held at 6:30 pm in the FHS media center. The main purpose will be to discuss Band Camp at Interlochen. Information on what to bring, daily schedule, medical questions and other important information will be presented. This meeting is particularly important for parents of first-time band members. However, all parents are encouraged to attend.

8/5/2010 - FHS Marching Band /Red Cross Blood Drive a Big Success! - Thank you to everyone who donated blood yesterday at the 1st annual "Bleed for the Band" Marching Band fund raiser. Approximately 75 people participated, providing much needed blood at the time of year when supplies are lowest. It was a great demonstation of community support.

7/25/2010 - Donate Blood on August 4th and help both the American Red Cross & the FHS Marching Band
On August 4th, from 3:00 � 9:00 p.m., the American Red Cross will be holding a blood drive at Ferndale High School. This event is a fund raiser for the Ferndale Marching Band. The more blood donors we have that evening, the more money the Red Cross will donate to the band. This is a win-win event. The Red Cross will receive much needed blood supplies for Southeast Michigan and we will receive much needed funds for our band. If you are able, we ask that you consider supporting us and the American Red Cross in this effort. Schedule an appointment for Wednesday, Aug 4th, 2010 between 3pm and 9pm. 6/18/2010 - Mr. Jamison named MSBOA Teacher to the Year for Band - Elon Jamison, FPS Performing Arts Coordinator and Director of Bands at FHS, was named the 2010 Band Teacher of the Year for District 4 of the Michigan School Band & Orchestra Association. Congratuations Mr. J. and thanks for all your hard work!

6/17/2010 - FOR SALE! Giant Leaves and Pink Gerber-Daisy Umbrellas from the 2009 marching band show, "Planet Earth". $5 each - Available at FHS at the end of this Saturday's mini-camp (4:00 p.m.) and Monday/Wednesday evening next week, after rehearsal ... while supplies last! 6/8/2010 - Summer Elementary and Middle School Band/Orchestra Camps - LOWER PRICE
The Ferndale Schools Music Department will once again be running summer music camps for students entering grades 5-8 this Fall. The program will take place Monday through Thursday mornings at FHS from July 12-29. A final concert will be on Thursday, July 29 at 7 pm. Thanks to grants from the FAB and the Ferndale Middle School Music Boosters, the price has been reduced from $80 to $65! The deadline to register is June 16. 6/7/2010 - This Saturday, June 12, 2010, is the Marching Band Rummage Sale from 9:00 AM-3:00 PM. If you have items to donate, please bring them by Ferndale High School early on the 12th, or drop them off at Irenita Goedert's house on the 11th. Call Irenita at 248-398-6030.
