4/23/2003 - SORRY, This missed the last newsletter,
REORGANIZATION UPDATE As you should know by now, all this past year we have been talking, investigating, and moving (slowly but deliberately) in the direction of reorganizing this group into an IRS recognized 501c3, tax-exempt, non-profit organization. The status as of this newsletter is as follows:
1) We have met with the District Administration and they are supportive of this endeavor and would like the Districts Attorney to review our Articles of Incorporation and by-laws before they are filed with the State.
2) The front running new name for this organization will be the Ferndale Schools Fine Arts Boosters (FS-FAB or simply the FAB)
3) The general structure will be a membership basis where all qualified members will have voice (vote) in the decisions of the Corporation. (vs. a Directorship)
4) The articles of Incorporation and the By-laws will be crafted to encourage grass-roots parent participation and flexibility to provide expansion where needed.
If you have any experience or personal knowledge (Lawyers, Accountants etc.) that you could share with us to help move us along this path, PLEASE CALL ME!! I would greatly appreciate any input you could provide to us; the sooner the better since what we are doing today will hopefully benefit the future generations of FERNDALE GRADUATES!!
